*****2019 BLS/ALS Protocol Update*****

Regarding the recent roll out of the new NYS BLS protocols and the ALS Collaborative protocols, there has been tremendous feedback to where to find the protocols, what is involved in rolling them out, when are they rolling out, where is the training, etc... I am hoping this will clear somethings up. First let me attach some important information:

At the WREMAC meeting that was held at the Genesee Co Fire Training Center, the WREMAC voted to utilize NYS BEMS new LMS system for rolling out the BLS protocols. This can be found at https://collabornation.net/nyems. The good news is that if you previously signed up for the collaborative protocol training back in 2016 then you will not need to set up a new user name and password. The one that you used back then will remain the same. When you do log in though, you will have to update some information in order to receive the necessary training. The training is 1 1/2 long and is broken down into 6 sections to avoid sitting for the entire thing in one session. Attached is the instruction in case you need to set up a user name and password Instructions

Keep in mind that this is only 1 of the 2 trainings that you will need in order to be compliant with the protocol changes that have been made. WREMAC is currently developing training for the changes that were made in the collaborative protocols and as soon as that is completed then we will pass along the information. I urge everyone at this time to complete the BLS training that has been assigned to you as EVERYONE that is a current active EMS provider in the state will need to complete this training prior to December 31st, 2019 before utilizing the protocols.

As always, If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me and I will do what I can to get you answers (Robert McCartin - rmccartin@lakeplains.org or 585-345-6110)
